When found at early stages of development, oral cancer victims have an 80 to 90% survival rate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thanks to engagement from the RDH community, we are on the cusp of a major change in this paradigm. With a commitment to screening for oral cancer warning signs during routine prophylaxis procedures, hygienists are helping to save lives through early detection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cJust doing \u2018opportunistic\u2019 cancer screenings during routine dental hygiene procedures would yield tens of thousands of opportunities to catch oral cancer in its early stages.
